Industry is searching for INNOVATIVE polymer materials to open up new markets, Commodity Plastics Companies are searching for INTELLIGENT polymer modifications, while Nano-composites are still awaiting their large-scale commercial INTRODUCTION. In Academia, the strive is for INTERACTIVE Polymer Materials (synthetic polymers made to mimic natural functions like Self-healing, Self-structuring, Sensing and Processing of signals, and Response to impacts from the environment). The Medical World is looking forward to IN VIVO use of Polymeric tissues, Drug-release particles and platelets and is already testing Polymer IMPLANTS. Thus, there is ample reason to organise this international conference on i-Polymer Materials. At i-PolyMat 2010 we intend to promote discussion between Industry Managers/Researchers and Academic Scientists about these latest trends in Polymers, in Chemistry as well as in Processing and Performance. To stimulate such discussions we have invited several Peer Experts: we will publish the list of names when they have confirmed. In addition to the Plenary Lectures, we intend to programme 140 Contributed Lectures, about 35 in each of the four Sessions Sunday 16/5 Monday 17/5 Tuesday 18/5 Wednesday 19/5 Topics per Session are: S 1) The Making of i-Polymers S 2) Processing towards i-Polymer
Materials S 3) Performance of i-
Polymer Materials S 4) Applications of i-Polymer
Materials S 5) Polymers and Energy You are invited to submit Contributed Lectures. In addition, there will be ample space to present your latest findings as Poster Contribution. Poster Sessions have always been extremely well attended at previous Rolduc Polymer Meetings. We hope to receive many Poster contributions at i-PolyMat 2010. The Deadline for submission of 1-page Abstracts is 15th of February 2010. |
